DIY: Remove Stickers from Wood

I know I am not the only one that has come across a neat piece of furniture at a yard sale (or for free through someone) but it has stickers on it.  Well, this was the case for me when I bought my nice desk from Goodwill.  It a had couple stickers on the inside of the doors and I am in the process of revamping my desk because it is a bit worn.  I am planning on painting the desk black, having the handles silver and for a pop of color the back part with be some red design (haven't figured it out yet).

With this in mind, I HAD to get those stickers off.  The key is to remove as much of the sticker you possibly can by hand (I know, a bit tedious).

Then, pour a good amount of oil over the remaining sticker residue.  Allow it to soak in.  Test a small area, if the residue wipes of easily continue wiping off, if not let it sit a little more.

Finish product is whatever piece of furniture, now sticker (and sticker residue) free.
