Extreme Couponing: Personal Opinion on the Controversy

So, I am sure that y'all have seen the show or heard about those people out there that are extreme couponers....those who walk away from a grocery or drug store with paying nothing or next to nothing for the purchases through the use of coupons.  I think that when you have a issue putting food on the table for your family it is a great way to do this.  Plus, if you have ever seen the show, you would know that these people spend hours and hours on finding coupons, matching up the coupons to deals at stores and then actually shopping.

I am writing on this subject because of two reasons.  The first reason is the controversy surrounding this subject in that some extreme couponers go extreme on products that they do not need or will go overboard.  Some couponers get cat food just because it is free or pays them to buy when they don't have a cat or they will buy 101 deodorants because it is free.  I do think that is a bit ridiculous.  However, if that person who is buying the cat food donates all the food to their local shelter or the person donates all that deodorant to their local homeless shelter, then that is different.  I think that is a great way to give back. If they are just holding on to the products, I think it can be considered hoarding.

The second reason I am writing about this is because I just read about the couple in Michigan who was arrested for selling the products they got through extreme couponing.  Now, they were not arresting for selling products without having a license, they were arrested for selling products that were received by extreme couponing and ad-matching.  According to the case, they were committing coupon fraud and making up sales so that Walmart would honor the price through their ad match program.  I am not really sure about that case, whether or not they are guilty or not, that is not what I wanted to talk about.  I actually wanted to say that I believe it should be okay for people to do whatever they want with the products they rightfully gain through couponing.  After all, not only are they spending the time to get the items but once it is theirs then it should be theirs to do what they want with the products, whether it is to keep them or to sell them.  What are y'all's thoughts?  Please, I want to know where you stand on this subject....

Gorton's Wicked Good Seafood Review and GIVEAWAY!!!!

Gorton's Wicked Good Seafood

Well, I was lucky enough to be selected to review Gorton's seafood line and share my thoughts.  I ended up receiving a really neat package from Gorton's that included 5 FREE Groton product coupons, recipe cards, a Gorton's key chain, and a Fisherman USB.

I tried the NEW Sandwich Fillets and I have to say that they were pretty good.  I am normally not that big on fish but I think the sandwich fillets were good.  They were nice and crispy and flavorful, without having that overpowering fish taste that some fish tend to have.

I ended up making a Honey Mustard fish sandwich with my fillet.  The recipe is simple.  All you have to do is cook the sandwich fillet as directed.  On a bun you put a little bit of honey mustard, then the fillet and top with cheese, lettuce and tomato.

I also tried the Crispy Battered Fish Fillets and made fish fajitas.  All you need to do is prepare the fish as directed.  Saute up some green peppers and onions.  On a tortilla, add fish, peppers, onions, cheese, lettuce and tomato.  I have never tried fish fajitas before and I must say they were not bad.  I actually enjoyed them.  So, needless to say, Gorton's has turned this person that did not like fish at all to someone who actually enjoys some fish recipes....I strongly suggest Gorton's products....

Gorton's has many products to choose from: fish sticks, crunchy breaded fish fillets, crispy battered fish fillets, original batter tender, beer battered tenders, potato crunch fish fillets, lemon herb fish fillets and fish sandwich fillets.  Not to mention, there is also tilapia and shrimp products to choose from.

As an added bonus y'all can go to Gorton's website where you can download a coupon, find recipes and check out all the different products.  While your there enter their "Wicked Good Seafood" online sweepstakes for a chance to win a trip to Boston.  If you are looking to save money on Gorton's you should link up with their Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest accounts to be the first to know about deals, coupons, new products and recipe ideas.

Now with that all being said.....GIVEAWAY time!!!!
Giveaway starts now and ends 10/2 at 11:59 pm est!
