Killer Heroine Due to Many Deaths

I am not sure if y'all saw this article about when I read it, I had to make it the hot topic of the week.  Apparently, there is a drug cocktail (more or less in Pennsylvania) involving a mixture of heroine and the commonly used cancer painkiller, Fentanyl.

According to doctors, Fentanyl is 100 times more powerful than morphine and is use to help cancer patients in extreme pain.  However, this new cocktail drug, with it's street name, Theraflu, is said to be 80 times more powerful than morphine and 100 times more powerful than heroine.

The deaths are due to overdosing and at least 22 deaths have been reported this year due to this drug.  More shockingly, is the fact that of those 22 deaths, 17 were just last week.  There are also reports that there were 50 deaths last year due to overdosing on this deadly cocktail.  This has become a "major public health crisis" and even though we all may not live in the area of Pennsylvania where this drug seems to be available, it is our responsibility to make sure these deaths to not rise any higher by making sure the drug does not come to where we live and be ultimately getting rid of the drug.

So, please join me by sharing this post with everyone you know.  We all need to be in the know so that we can stop this drug from killing another person.

Gorton's Grilled Review & Giveaway

Gorton's Real Fabulous Review

Thanks to being a member of Gorton's Bloggers, I was able to get this real neat care package from Gorton's that included....
5 full-value product coupons
A pair of Gorton's oven mitts
A Gorton's spatula
4 Gorton's recipe cards (to add to my collection)

Thanks to the full-value coupons, I was able to try...Gorton's Signature Grilled Tilapia.  It was really easy to prepare, you could either cook them in the oven or the microwave and in one box comes with 2 fillets (2 servings per box).  Now, I got mine for free, however at my local grocery store they are on sale for $4.99.

In order to get a great taste for the fillets, I left them alone are just paired them with sides; yellow rice and beets. Unfortunately, my final thoughts on these fillets is that they were alright.  You could taste the grilled flavor (which is a plus), however, I just do not think they are worth the $5 a box (on sale).  One fillet is not enough to fill you up so you end up eating the 2 servings and you still need those sides to fill you up.  I also believe that the fillets are processed because tilapia does not come in nicely formed bricks.  I also must say that I am disappointed that my local grocery store does not carry Gorton's Grilled Shrimp because that is the product I was really looking forward to try.  So, don't just take my word for it, try these grilled products and let me know what y'all think.

Gorton's is really trying new ways to become a choice for your families seafood brand.  With all the new products and right now you can enter their Real Fabulous Sweepstakes.  You can enter daily for your chance to win the $1,000 makeover Grand Prize or one of the other weekly prizes!!!!

You can also go to Gorton's website where you download coupons, check out recipes and learn about all their new products.  And if you really want to stay in the loop with Gorton's connect with them on Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, and Instagram.

Lastly, but certainly not least, I have great news for all you fans.....a giveaway!!!  You can win your very own Gorton's care package.  The giveaway starts now (1/29) and will end February 27, 2014 at 5 pm est.

The winner will win the following:

2 Full-value product coupons
An assortment of recipe cards
A Gorton's spatula
A pair of Gorton's oven mitts

So, what are you waiting for?!

BBQ Pulled Garlic Chicken Wraps

BBQ Pulled Garlic Chicken Wraps

What you need:

Boneless, skinless chicken breast (amount depends on amount of people eating about 1 breast per person)
Tortilla wraps (2 per person)
BBQ sauce (I used my fav, Sweet Baby Rays)
Shredded Cheese (Cheddar or Mozzarella, I used a little of both)
2 Tbsp chopped garlic

Directions:

1. In a pot, sautee garlic on high for about 1 or 2 minutes.

2. Add chicken and add water to completely cover chicken.  Return to stove on high heat.

3.  Boil for about 15 to 20 minutes or until chicken reaches at least 165 degrees when temped (I would suggest a digital thermometer).

4.  Remove chick from the pot and run under cold water to cool it down some.

5.  Pull chicken apart into bite size pieces (I used 2 forks).

6.  Place a tortilla wrap on a plate, add desired amount of bbq sauce, top with chicken and then cheese and wrap.

7.  Microwave for approximately 90 seconds or until the cheese is melted.  Enjoy!
