So, one thing y'all should know about me is that I have a few family members that use their voice to make people realize what is going on and they also have some ideas about there being a hidden agenda with the government trying to control more than they should.
With that being said, there are some things that they say to me that makes me wonder too but for the most part I try not to get involved because I really don't know about the whole government conspiracy movement. However, there are things that just happen that you have to speak on. Now, I am not saying everything that happens is some big government conspiracy but I do think we as the common folk have to start stepping up as a whole as ask questions that need to be asked and make sure that the powers that be are doing everything they are suppose to be doing to make sure we have a good life.
So, with this all out in the open, I have been collecting articles for the last just 2 weeks about all the different food recalls. What is surprising is not only in just 2 weeks time there is over 10 recalls on food but the fact that it is a wide variety of food that is being recalled.
I personally try to take notice whenever there is a food recall and it all started when I found the case action suit against Starkist Tuna where the company was ordered to pay all there customers back for under filling the cans of tuna (you can check that out here). Then it is like the flood gates were opened and all food seemed to be getting recalled! Here is the list of what I have found:
Frozen Corn: Due to Listeria and distributed to store in Mississippi, New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Vermont, Massachusetts, Indiana, Ohio, Kentucky, Maryland, Virginia, North Carolina, Florida, and Louisiana.
Holten Meat Inc Extra Value Meats Quarter Pound Beef Patties: Due to not labeling MSG in the ingredients, the product recall includes those packaged from 2/13/2015 to 7/28/2015, click here to check.
Fresh Potatoes: SETTLEMENT for over charging consumers, if potatoes were bought between 10/14/2004 to 4/10/2015 in the following states: AZ, CA, FL, IA, KS, MA, MI, MN, NV, NY, NC, TN, VT, WI, click here to file your claim.
Sara Lee Bread: Due to the presence of small pieces of glass, products recalled include Sara Lee 100% Whole Wheat Bread 20 oz; Sara Lee Honey Wheat Bread 20 oz; Sara Lee 100% Whole Wheat Bread 16 oz; Sara Lee Honey Wheat Bread Twinpack 2 lbs 8oz; Sara Lee Delightful Healthy Multi-Grain Bread Twinpack 2 lbs 8 oz; Sara Lee Delightful Healthy Multi-Grain Bread 20 oz; Sara Lee Delightful 100% Whole Wheat made with Real Honey Bread 20oz, click here for more information.
Oscar Mayer Turkey Bacon: Due to illness, soiling before best by date, products include Selects- Uncured Turkey Bacon and Smoked Cured Turkey Chopped and Formed, for more information, click here.
Van's Frozen Food: SETTLEMENT on products labeled Van’s Natural Foods” and “Totally Natural”, “Naturally Delicious”, or “All Natural” from 1/1/2009 to 6/15/2015 due to ingredient not being natural even though Van denies this claim, they agreed to the settlement. File your claim here.
Fresh Cucumbers: due to salmonella, products grown in Mexico and sold between 8/1/2015 to 9/3/2015.
Olli Salami: due to not labeling all ingredients, products include Olli Salumeria Napoli Applewood Smoked Salame, Olli Salumeria Sopressata Robust Salame, Olli Salumeria Genoa Mild Salame, Olli Salumeria Toscano Fennel Pollen Salame, Olli Salumeria Pepperoni Classic American Salame, and Olli Salumeria Calabrese Spicy Salame
I mean granted some of the recalls have nothing to do with health concerns but I just think it is more than a little weird that in 2 weeks time there are so many issues and recalls with food. Seeing this makes me want to grow my own food and seek other options that buying from the grocery store. If I have to constantly be worried that the food I am eating is going to be recalled, why should we keep trusting companies with our health? Maybe we as the common folk need to make sure the powers that be put a higher importance on our food and focus on supporting local farmers.
What do y'all think? Am I overreacting?
I am very serious about starting a garden to cut down on some of the food that I buy. I have even done some research on products through Jet (the place to be to buy products online for cheap)! If you want to join Jet, click here and enter promo code Rambling during the sign up process.
