Ramblings Thoughts, Influenster, Keurig, 2.0 Brewer, Reusable K-Cup, Review, Video

So, about a year ago, Influenster blessed me with a brand new Keurig 2.0 for me to review. (Click here to check out the review)

I loved it!  I have loved the Keurig brand.  However, I must say, I hated the fact that the new Keurig will only use specially marked k-cups.  That can be really expensive.  The old Keurigs you could use can k-cup or even buy a reusable cup...but not with the 2.0 Keurig.

Until now...check out what I think about the Keurig 2.0 My K-Cup that Influenster sent me.  You can pick up one for $14.99 through Keurig.com or even Target.

Home Hack: Make Your Bathroom Smell Good

Click here to review my disclosure policy!  This post does contain affiliate links!
There are many different ways to try to make your bathroom smell better...from using air sprays to plug-ins.  The problem is they can be pretty expensive (the plug-ins) or you have to be in the bathroom to spray it to smell good.

Until now.

Saving money and make sure your bathroom smells good at the same time.  All you have to do is add a few drops of your favorite essential oil on the inside of your toilet paper roll.  This will cause the scent to fill the room every time a person uses the toilet paper.

Education Injustice: Pledge to Self-Learn

Click here to review my disclosure policy!  This post does contain affiliate links!

Ramblings Thoughts, Discussion, Current Events, Education, Lack, Politics, History, Historical Figures, Self, Learning, Teaching
I have thought a lot about this topic and gone back and forth on whether or not I wanted to speak on it or not.  After all, I am a very smart person.  I was able to earn my bachelor's and master's degree in psychology through excelled online courses while holding down a full time job.

However, I have recently been hanging out with someone who is extremely knowledgeable in history and politics.  The problem is, when the conversation turns to historic figures that everyone should know, I don't know much about them.  For the majority, I know names but when it comes to knowing why they are historical....I have no idea.  Because of this, I end up feeling stupid because I cannot really contribute to the conversation.

The same goes with politics.  I really would like to know more but it was not something that was taught in high school.  Granted, I never was interested in history in high school, however, my Florida education primarily focused on learning what we needed to past the FCAT test.  A test that was geared to assess the teachers performance by having students complete a test on a variety of areas.  The schools with an overall passing grade would receive more government funding.

I cannot blame it all my schooling, whenever I did have a history class, I was bored out of my mind.  I don't want to spend an hour in a classroom looking up the 20 different terms that you have to define and remember, as well as trying to remember specific dates.  I really think history textbooks have to be revamped to be more interesting to read.

But after talking to my historical/political friend, he said something to me that hit home.  I cannot use the excuse that I was not really taught history in school and do nothing about it.  I am fully capable of checking out biographies on historical figures.  I am also always online, so not only can I look up figures, I can also get more involved with learning about politics.  I know that it is important for me as a citizen to be more involved with the goings on in our government.  In fact, I believe all of my generation needs to get more involved with politics so that we can make needed change and ensure that our government is a reflection of what we want.

So, with that being said, I am going to make the pledge to educate myself on the areas that I lack so greatly on....history and politics.  I want to be able to better informed when it comes to my government and not feel stupid because I cannot contribute to the conversation.  They do say that it is important to learn about our past because it is where we have come from and it can help us with our future.  So, I ask this of y'all....I need to know where to start....what historical figures should I learn about first?  Or what historical events?

If you would like to join my Pledge, just comment below saying that you're in and I will set up a group, so that we can chat and share as we learn.  If history and politics is not something you want to learn or feel like you neglected on, what subject would you want to learn about?  Why not learn about it now?  Learning about it on your own is better because you don't have to worry about any tests at the end of the chapter.
