Ramblings Thoughts, Shopping, Money Saving, Budget Friendly

Shopping....I don't know about y'all but I love shopping.  I don't necessarily love spending my money though.  What is even worse is when I have to buy something that I was not planning on buying and then I find out that if I would have just waiting a little longer I would have saved a bunch of money.

Now, there are a bunch of apps out there to help you out when this happens like Walmart Saving Catcher but I forget all the time to use it....and then I kick myself later for it.  With that being said, there has to be a time of year when certain items and products are being sold at the lowest, right?

RIGHT!!!!  I have the inside scoop on when to buy certain items and products.  Now, I am not talking about products that we all typically buy on a regular basis.  Its like gardening tools, certain clothing items, beds or bed sets or air conditioners...items like that are the items that you can save big if you know when to buy them.  Then there is always trying to figure out what food is best to buy when....

This is the third installment of 12 posts that will help you know when to buy those needed items and save a good amount of money.

So, what should we buy in the month of April?  Check out this list:

Items at Fleamarkets (haggle down when weather is bad)

Summer Flights (for June and July, book on Tuesdays)

Winter weather Tools (snow blowers, shovels, etc)

Ham (after Easter)

Scrumptious Pot Roast

If there is one thing that sticks out from my childhood is the Sunday dinners that we had at my great-grandmother's.  She was the best cook and was able to make miracles out of the income she had.  Now, back then, the food was my main focus.  It was so yummy (and I am not saying that my mom wasn't a good cook, because she learned from my great-grandmother) and I just loved how warm and comfortable being in her presence was.

However, now that I am an adult and look back on those times, I don't just think about the food (solely, at least), I remember all the times that I got to spend time with family members.  The kids would all play together and the adults would all be in the kitchen with her chit chatting and catching up.

What really sucks now that I am in my thirties and my great grandmother has passed away, those family meals do not happen unless it is the holidays.  But thankfully, I am able to cook those traditional Sunday meals that bring the family members drooling over to my house (even if it is my immediate family).  And one of favorite meals is my scrumptious pot roast and because my family enjoys it so much, I figured y'all would enjoy it too.

What you need:

Ramblings Thoughts Scrumptious Pot Roast Recipe
3 lb. pork or beef roast
3 lb. med potatoes
3 lb. carrots
1 medium onion
1 pkt. brown gravy
1 pkt. au jus gravy
2 tbsp. black pepper
2 tbsp. garlic powder

1.  In a large skillet on medium-high heat, sear black pepper and garlic powdered seasoned roast on both sides about 10 to 20 minutes depending on thickness.  (*Key is to leave on first side until the side of the meat is no longer red, but a brown color and then flip to the other side just long enough to get the sear color on that side).  Put meat into crockpot.
